My wife and I attended our first Fancy Brigade Finale this January 1, 2007 at the noontime show with our two sons, Logan (3) and Chase (18 months). We walked in with no idea what to expect, and we were completely blown away. The costumes, the detail, the choreography, the sets, and awesome spectacle of each performance took our breath away.
Thank you all for your incredible hard work, time, and dedication. I can only imagine the personal cost of time, talent, and treasure to put on such a fantastic production. The look on my two sons’ faces today and the feeling in my heart sitting with them watching such a wonderful performance from the folks in our community has made this the single best New Years Day experience of my life.
Today marks the start of a new New-Years-Day tradition in our family with the Mummers and Fancy Brigades being at the center of it. God bless you all in each and every brigade and thank you again for creating such a wonderful day for our family.

This was my first visit for the Mummers Celebration in Philly. My wife had grown up in Germantown and went to the parade as a child. She expected to see a show of string bands. What we saw was totally unexpected. Absolutely fantastic. The costumes, music, sets and dance numbers displayed a tremendous effort on the part of the participants. I am hoping there will be a DVD of the event so we can share with our friends. Looking forward to next year.
