FANCY BRIGADE ASSOCIATION PRESS RELEASE
07/30/20
Tonight members and officers of the Fancy Brigade Association met to discuss preparations for the 2021 Fancy Brigade Finale, an event that takes place annually on New Year's Day in Philadelphia, PA. After much consideration with our members and City of Philadelphia officials, the Fancy Brigade Association has decided to cancel New Year's Day festivities on January 1st, 2021.
The Fancy Brigade Association believes that the health and well-being of our parade participants and guests, as well our volunteer members, production staff and partners, is our number one priority. While the 2021 Fancy Brigade Finale is more than five months from now, the preparation for such a large event typically begins year round with members and clubs raising funds to prepare for their New Year's Day shows. While we are extremely disappointed that we are unable to host our show this year inside of the PA Convention Center, we believe that not doing so will prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as protect the legacy of the Fancy Brigade Association for generations to come. While this year's traditional Fancy Brigade Finale has been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns, the celebration will continue on our social media pages and with our television partner, PHL17.
Details will be coming in the weeks and months ahead.We hope all of our fans continue to stay healthy and safe
